What you see in these next pictures isn’t a normal beach. And it doesn’t contain normal sand. This beach, believe it or not, is actually composed of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of bone fragments. Fish bone fragments. Located off the coast of the Salton Sea, this is California’s largest lake. Apparently, the salinity is raising at an alarming rate…so much so that the fish simply cannot survive and die. Their remains, may they rest in peace, get deposited on this shore – thus creating this sandy graveyard.
At first glance…this would seem like a beautiful, pristine sandy beach
But upon closer inspection…
We can see tiny bone fragments accumulated throughout the years
So please…don’t go barefoot on THIS beach
